I’m not a very collective person when it comes to makeup, much less with PR. But I am specific when it comes to beauty products! Lately I had been needing a new set of eyeshadows that would work together, but without being a plethora of 20 colors. So when I learned about Smashbox’s Cover Shot palettes, I knew this was a perfect size for me. Every Cover Shot palette comes with 2 matte base shades to start your countless eye looks, and 6 lovely, very unique eye shades to create those countless eye combinations! Like I said, all the shades match with each other! I had never owned a smachbox eyeshadow palette, but I went with “Golden Hour”, one of the seven -moods- (as I like to call them) in the Cover Shot collection.
Maybe you think I’m way too excited with this palette after just wearing it for only 2 days after writing this review, but both times were spending long summer days, with bae shopping, eating at a new restaurant that recently opened in town, then spending a fun day with the in-laws, eating dinner out in their backyard! Both days, I wore my looks without any eyeshadow primer 😱 because I conveniently ran out. (I know, I know..) But surprisingly, the shadows stay very well in place after 5-6 hours! That is a lot more than what I could say about the other shadows I’ve worn in the past with primer. This palette is also my first high-end, but not in any way perfect or better than drugstore. I have not idea about the other -moods- in the cover shot collection, but as for “Golden Hour”, the first shade after the first base shades called “Lights” needs a few more lights to impress me. I’m attracted to bright shimmery shades like a fly to a light bulb! So “lights” on the pan looks promising but its probably the shade I have had to dig into the most to get decent payoff.. So I might have to get myself a new eyeshadow primer to test this shade, and let you know if its any better.
OK OK now, for the rest of the shades, I have compiled a few pics that I’ve taken for your viewing pleasure! Enjoy!
So what I’m trying to say, is that I really like this palette and the color choice I went with! Diversity, quality in colors and payoff, all packaged in a minimal palette-(last time I say this word thank goodness!)
If you’ve tried this collection before, lemme know your thoughts on it! If you have not tried it and kinda want to, Of course Ima leave you a link so you can buy!
