Skin is in now in 2018 more than ever, and for the better!
Thanks to brands educating their costumers right from the packaging about what key ingredients are going on to their skin, the beautiful packaging, social media influencers showing off how fun, smart, and necessary skincare is! It all has worked so far and I have been on the wagon for a whole year and almost 2 months. Still adjusting tho..
After a few months, I am excited about a beauty movement all over again! At the moment its seems that Korean skincare and brands are very popular. We are noticing how smart and innovative it is, and for the many of us who have tried the products, it has definitely left a very good impression! Here I will be sharing a few products and stores that I have gone to & visited to purchase such pretty packaged K-skincare! I do hope you enjoy reading this one so lets get started!
Firstly, I want to mention that I jumped on this Asian/Korean skincare wagon because of the brand Tatcha. A brand that is based on Japanese skincare and ingredients, and their beloved enzyme rice polish and water cream. From there I let myself be swept off my feet by Korean skincare!
I say I am still adjusting because I am still very comfortable/used to the usual U.S. & French skincare/Beauty that has thrived in the states for like ever. However I do love this mystery that is Asian skincare, even though all I have seen around instagram & youtube (my personal preference for social media/feed), is great results from the consumers and too much hype to ignore its sudden popularity and presence. On my last trip to Sephora and Åhléns I did not buy not one single makeup item, my fiance insisted, but I surprisingly did not care for a new foundation or mascara. Very different to the Stefani from even last year!.. Anyways,…
We walked into Åhléns first and I got;
*a sheet mask by It’S SKIN: green tea watery mask. Containing green tea extract(camellia sinensis leaf extract) which is over all great for moisturizing and calming the skin, leaving it very soft.
*Mizon enjoy vital-up time nourishing mask. Containing fresh avocado, just another great ingredient to help moisturize the skin, which is very necessary in these cold winter months.
@ Sephora, I got;
*SKINFOOD hydrating coconut mask. Its one of those that you leave on overnight.
*Sephora pearl sheet mask. I love this one, I always make sure to pick one up!
*Dr.Jart+ water drop hydrating moisturizer. Like water, very refreshing and brightening. All very nice add on’s to my skin that I will gladly accept, thank you very much!
I kinda regret not picking up more things at Åhléns, because they had A LOT more K-skincare than my local Sephora did.. I will be stopping by in a few weeks so, I will make sure to grab a few more goodies!
As of yet, I’ve only given the coconut leave in mask and the water drop moisturizer a try. Not only because they were the two products I was the most excited to test out first, but because my skin has been in dire need of moisture for weeks since my dear moisturizing moon mask from Glossier finished up.. Honestly its been more than just a few weeks and I’m not proud. But thankfully I gave my skin the moisturizing fix it needed.
I am a believer of giving a product enough time frame to bring out real results. So I will keep using the Dr.Jart+ & SKINFOOD for a bit more and report back when I get results!
I have a few other products being sent sent over from YESSTYLE. Two really great toners that I have heard nothing more than love and great results and lots of rave! Of course I will tell you which! I got;
*Klairs supple preparation facial toner
*Pyunkang Yul essence toner
So… believe it or not, I haven’t used a toner in almost..13 years. Yep… not proud of that either.. BUT letting go of past and not looking back, I will start properly taking care of my skin while I still have time.. obviously future reviews will be up on these and many more products to come!
YESSTYLE offered some really good deals on these products I got, but I have also been meaning to shop from other online stores most of us have heard about, like SOKOGLAM, GLOW RECIPE, and WISHTREND. Luckily for you, I’ve got discount links for these three stores, except YESSTYLE (currently working on it tho). Head over to my “SAVINGS LINKS & CODES” to get the best deals!
I honestly cannot wait to report back on this new skincare journey I’m about to take! In the meantime, you can find me on my Insta @skinfinit that’s where I post most frequently between blog posts, so leave me a comment/like/follow, and as always thanks for reading!👋😘
